Mt. Washington Bank Inducted
into the Junior Achievement
Boston Business Hall of Fame
(South Boston, MA) – May 28, 2009– “Boston’s
Community Bank,” Mt. Washington Bank, was inducted this morning
into the Junior Achievement Boston Business Hall of Fame. Mt. Washington
Bank was honored for its excellence in three key areas: success in its
industry, a proven commitment to the community, especially youth and education,
and an insistence on growth and investment in Eastern Massachusetts. The
induction took place this morning at the Westin Copley Place Hotel in
Boston.
“Junior Achievement is proud to honor the good work of companies
such as Mt. Washington Bank that have demonstrated an outstanding level
of dedication to the communities they serve and are wonderful examples
to us all,” said David C. Eustis, Jr., President of Junior Achievement.
During the induction ceremony, Mt. Washington Bank was lauded for exemplifying
the best in business practices and community involvement, particularly
through the bank’s Charitable Foundation which dedicates 10% of
their annual profits to help the people, services, organizations and charities
in the communities in which they serve. The Junior Achievement Boston
Business Hall of Fame ceremony also honored two other Boston businesses:
Pioneer Investments and Stop & Shop, as well as two individual inductees:
Maura Banta of IBM and Bennie Wiley of The Wiley Group.
