Mt.
Washington Bank Names Joyce A. Murphy and Shiela Y. Moore To Board of
Directors

South Boston, MA August 23, 2005 – Mt. Washington Bank is pleased
to announce two additions to their Board of Directors. Shiela Y. Moore,
Executive Director of Bridge Over Troubled Waters and Joyce A. Murphy,
President of Caritas Carney Hospital have been elected to the Board, effective
June 27, 2005.
Murphy brings a wealth of skills and experience to the board of Mt. Washington
Bank, including operations management, strategic planning, and change
management. As President of Caritas Carney Hospital, Murphy is very familiar
with the communities of Dorchester and South Boston, the principal neighborhoods
currently served by Mt. Washington Bank. In addition to her role as President
of Caritas Carney, Murphy also serves as Senior Vice President of government
relations for the Caritas Christi Health Care System. Within the organization,
Murphy founded St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Center, a health
and human service center which provides a continuum of care to at-risk
women, infants and children. Prior to her role with Caritas Christi, Murphy
served as the first deputy commission for the Massachusetts Department
of Revenue and as the Superintendent for MCI-Framingham, with the Massachusetts
Department of Correction.
Moore brings more than 20 years of experience in managing non-profit community-based
health and human service organizations to the board of Mt. Washington
Bank. As Executive Director of Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a non-profit
organization serving homeless youth, Moore manages more than 250 staff
and volunteers and an operating budget of $3.6 million in bringing services
to ore than 4,000 youth annually. Prior to her role with Bridge Over Troubled
Waters, Moore served as Executive Director of Casa Myrna Vazquez, Inc.,
New England’s largest and mot comprehensive domestic violence organization.
Moore has also worked with Physician Partners of New England, Dimock Community
Health Center and Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center.

to add experienced professionals who know and understand the communities

Bank. “Shiela Moore and Joyce Murphy have an incredible amount of
business experience and intimate knowledge of the local neighborhoods.
Their addition to the board will provide critical insights as Mt. Washington
expands. We are thrilled they have agreed to join our organization.”
