South Boston, MA - - -Mt. Washington Bank, one of Boston’s largest independent, mutually owned community banks, has expanded its presence in the marketplace by joining the largest ATM network in America, Allpoint. Starting April 1, Mt. Washington Bank customers will have access to over 32,000 ATMs nationwide, surcharge-free.

According to Mt. Washington Bank President and CEO Edward Merritt this business strategy allows the Bank to offer greater convenience and access to its ever-growing customer base while at the same time increasing the Bank’s presence in the marketplace. “Through our entry into the Allpoint ATM Network, Mt Washington Bank can now offer our customers much greater access to ATMs in our market area. At Mt. Washington Bank, our greatest strength is that we are a locally operated, community bank with strong ties to South Boston and Dorchester. This national affiliation allows us to provide access to the largest number of surcharge-free ATMs of any bank in Boston or the region,” said Merritt.

Founded in 1893, Mt. Washington Bank has stayed committed to the promise outlined in its mission statement by being "full-service independent bank, offering financial services to meet the needs of its retail and small business community. Mt. Washington recently announced the opening of its new Gallivan Boulevard branch in Dorchester, representing the Bank's fourth branch location in addition to a stand alone loan center.
