Hundreds of Letters & Cards Will Greet American Servicemen And Women Away From Home This Holiday Season

Persons wishing to submit names and addresses of service personnel should contact Mt. Washington Bank by December 2.

Mt Washington Bank and local veterans have teamed up once again to present Mail Call 2005. This event offers citizens the opportunity to send holiday greeting cards and notes of good wishes to US Armed Forces personnel stationed away from home during the holidays. Mail Call 2005 is coordinated and sponsored by Mt. Washington Bank in South Boston and will take place on, December 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all Mt. Washington Bank Branches.

This year, people will honor our heroes currently serving in the military by visiting a Mail Call 2005 table and filling out a greeting card or note of thanks to a person in the Armed Forces stationed away from home during the holiday season. Mt. Washington Bank will collect the cards and greetings and distribute them to a list of US troops submitted in advance by their family or friends. Persons interested in having their loved ones or friends included on this list must contact Jack Forbush of Mt. Washington Bank at 617-269-5773 by December 2.

Given the nation’s current military status, Mail Call 2005 is a great way to honor and support our brave Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, who are serving in faraway places this holiday season. Last year hundreds of cards were mailed through this program and Mt. Washington Bank is hoping to build on that success at this year’s event.

The following qualifications have been implemented again for Mail Call 2005:
No packages will be accepted. Names, ranks and mailing addresses will be maintained in a secure manner. All cards will be picked up in the bank lobby and left with a bank representative before the customer. leaves. The cards will be sealed by the Mail Call staff.

Founded in 1893, Mt. Washington Bank has stayed committed to the promise outlined in its mission statement by being "full-service independent bank, offering financial services to meet the needs of its retail and small business community. Mt. Washington recently announced the opening of its new Gallivan Boulevard branch in Dorchester, representing the Bank's fourth branch location in addition to a stand alone loan center.
