Over 250 Runners/Walkers Participated in the Second Annual Mt. Washington Bank 5K Bay Walk/Run

South Boston, MA - - -Over 250 runners/walkers took part in Mt. Washington Bank’s second annual 5K road race on Sunday, October 21. Adults and children of all ages and from various parts of the city and the region enjoyed a full day that included a scenic race route, a prize ceremony, a 50 yard dash for kids and a barbeque. They also contributed to the $75,000 raised from the event, which will go to the Mt. Washington Charitable Foundation in support of various educational programs in the communities that the Bank serves.

“For the second year in a row, we have managed to receive wonderful support from the community and the hundreds of people who participated in this important and fun filled family event. We are most grateful to our top sponsors Auburn Construction, DRL and NES Group, Longfellow Benefits for their contributions in making the Mt. Washington Bank Annual Road Race a success and for helping us support a most noteworthy cause, education,” said Ed Merritt, President and CEO of Mt. Washington Bank.

The overall top male winner was Craig Wildman of Brookline and the overall top woman winner was Jen Donovan of Brighton. Both individuals received $250. Other top winners from their respective age group received $50 each for their achievement.

Mt. Washington recently announced the opening of its new Gallivan Boulevard branch in Dorchester, representing the Bank's fourth branch location in addition to a stand alone loan center.
