Jeffrey Alkins Joins Mt. Washington Bank As Mortgage Loan Officer

South Boston, MA August 18, 2005 – Mt. Washington Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Dorchester resident Jeffrey Alkins as a mortgage loan officer. In this role, Alkins will be responsible for the originations of mortgage loans with a focus on community lending and first-time homebuyers. Alkins will report to Laura Dorfman, Senior Vice President, Residential Mortgage & Consumer Lending.

Alkins has extensive background in mortgage lending. Prior to his appointment at Mt. Washington Bank, Alkins spent ten years as a loan officer at Citizens Mortgage Corporation in Boston where he worked closely with a number of lending programs, including Fannie Mae, Mass Housing, Acorn Housing, FHA/VA and others. Reflective of Mt. Washington’s community focus, Alkins has also worked closely with a number of area non-profit organizations, including Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance, Massachusetts Housing Partnership, Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative and the Codman Square DNC.

Alkins brings more than 25 years of experience to his role with Mt. Washington Bank. Prior to working with Citizens Mortgage, Alkins worked with Chase/American Residential Mortgage, Haymarket Cooperative Bank and Boston Five Cents Savings Bank.

 

Founded in 1893, Mt. Mt. Washington recently announced the opening of its new Gallivan Boulevard branch in Dorchester, representing the Bank's fourth branch location in addition to a stand alone loan center.
