Mt. Washington Bank Brings True Community Banking to Dorchester with Opening of New Branch

(South Boston, October 1, 2003) --- Mt. Washington Bank announced the grand opening of its Dorchester branch at 489 Gallivan Boulevard with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday 4, 2003 at 8:30 a.m. This opening marks the return of true community banking back to the Dorchester, Mattapan, Roxbury and Milton communities. City Council President Michael Flaherty, City Councilor Maureen Feeney, other local officials and community leaders were on hand to celebrate the grand opening.

The new Galvin Boulevard branch will offer Mt. Washington's signature Ultimate Service and the same attention to detail that the bank is already famous for with a multitude of modern banking amenities such as a drive-up ATM, multiple inside teller locations, night depository, ample parking and a convenient location off of a major highway.

Grand Opening activates included refreshments, giveaways and a formal ribbon cutting ceremony. At over 3000 sq. feet, the new branch represents an investment of over $1.5 million in the community. The new branch provide greater service for depositors and loan customers of the bank.

"The new Galvin Boulevard branch allows us to do more for the surrounding communitites. This expansion also represents our growth and prosperity and allows us to bring our commitment to full-service banking and convenience to additional markets and customers," said Edward Merritt, President and CEO, "We are especially proud that by this Saturday will have completed a week-long philantropic program that has given $10,000 to local charitable and civic organizations."
The new Galvin Boulevard branch represents the Bank's fourth branch location in addition to a stand alone loan center. It will service customers from Dorchester, Mattapan, Milton and Roxbury.
